Pitching washers is a skill that is developed while playing in order to land the washers on the washer board. It's advised that you throw or pitch a 'flat' washer, meaning that you may need to alter how the washer is thrown by pitching a washer with a taller ark, or loft. Over time a player will develop their own technique.
In order to further reduce the noise of the washers landing on the game board (if pitching washers indoors or after hours at a campground) put a towel, shirt, or leaves underneath the washer board. This technique will help reduce the sound associated with the washers landing on the game board.
If playing on a loose or soft surface (for example: gravel, yard debris, sand, leaves), drill or punch two holes on the front edge of the washerboard and insert a metal stake, wire, or any other object that will prevent the washer board from sliding out of position.
When unable to verify the distance of 21 feet between the center of one board to the center of the other, it's suggested that an adult walk 6 to 7 paces which is a good estimation to start with. If possible, carry a string or rope that is 21 feet in distance for assistance.
Please note!! Playing on hard surfaces such as concrete, asphalt, or gravel may cause excessive wear on the washers. Over time, this may also chip the powder coating of the washers. Additional washers are available for purchase.

What’s included in the EVO2PRO Set?

Two game boards (black or red), Eight washers (4 white/4 red), and an insert detailing Instructions, Scoring, Customer Service, and Contact Information.

What size are the washers available and how durable are they?

The washers are 2.5 inches (outer diameter), or USS Size 1. The washers all consistently weigh the same to ensure product quality.
They are made from hardened steel, which is more durable than commonly found retail washers.

Are your washers painted or powder coated?

Our washers are professionally powder coated to ensure product quality.
Traditionally, paint easily chips when playing washers; however, the powder coating process bakes the color onto the steel providing a more durable product.

When will additional colors be available?

Various colors are available upon request and will be added to the website shortly. Please contact us for special color requests or details.

Why do your rules vary slightly from the rules I have used before?

There is not an official set of rules for the game of washers, the rules provided by RiverCity Washers encompass a majority of the rules commonly used.
Feel free to utilize your own rules or create your own for additional fun!

Why are 4 washers packaged and sold if only 3 are used per person in a game?

It was decided to include an extra for a variety of reasons. Any small hardware item, by nature, has a way of getting lost.
Think car maintenance, kids, tall grass, etc.
